What to Bring
Please Note:
NO Drugs, Alcohol, Firearms, Bows & Arrows, Pets, Nintendo and Ouija Boards are allowed on Camp Mikell property.
This is Camp policy and thus the Gathering has adopted it wholeheartedly for all who come on spiritual retreat with Meher Baba. Please do not bring items that could be distracting to others.
- CLOTHING: Bring sweaters and jackets, rain gear, layered and/or warm clothing. Then think sunshine! If you’d like to take a jog through the hills, bring your running gear. There’s a great path that runs behind the Camp. You may also want to bring clothing appropriate for volleyball, hiking and campfires.
- ESSENTIALS: Flashlights, covered shoes, umbrellas or rain-gear, earplugs if sharing accommodations, eye shades and toiletries.
- FIRST AID: The camp provides basic first-aid supplies but bring your own favorite remedies if it makes sense to you – Rescue Remedy and the likes.
- FOOD & KITCHENS: The camp kitchen is off-limits to us. If you have special food needs please come prepared to take care of yourself. Meals are cafeteria style camp food. There is a salad bar at every meal but the food is not in any way to be construed as health conscious. We are eating Love and Companionship and leaving the rest to God. FYI: All the upper cabins have refrigerators and microwaves.
- SNACKS: The Camp does not provide between meal snacks. However, we have a Toddy Shop located in Lovers Lodge – and we depend on all of you all to stock the shop with donations of all varieties! Chocolate, fruits, nuts, cookies, chips – any kind of munchies are appreciated. And remember to bring for all of us – children, teens and adults.
- CHILDREN: If you have small children, bring booster seats or high chairs, cribs and bedding, a night-light, and any special food including snacks for childcare periods. Please label all toys.
- DORM DWELLERS: You must bring your own bedding – be it linens with a blanket or sleeping bag as well as a towels and pillow. Consider bringing a good foam pad or camping pad to cushion your dreams.
- RETREAT VILLAGE, PRIVATE & SEMI-PRIVATE: are provided full bedding and towels. You may want to bring an extra blanket or comforter in case the mountain evenings are cool. You may also want to bring your personal pillow for a softer sleep.
